An amazing group of people from Aviva are fundraising for Star Throwers and supporting us with various projects throughout the year. Wea re excited to work with the ‘Challenge 150 Team’ and will be sharing all of their exciting updates! Members from the team have already been along to the centre and seen all the ways in which we support local people affected by cancer.
A word from Paula Colk-Halls, Chief Underwriting Officer who is helping lead the team:
“We are a group of people who work at Aviva that have been affected directly or indirectly by breast cancer. We wanted to take action and Challenge 150 was born. Our mission is to raise awareness about the importance of self-examination, to raise funds for cancer charities and to support them by volunteering our time. We have chosen Star Throwers as our main charity for 2025 and held our first fundraising event this week – a Winter bake sale at our Norwich office! The Winter Bake Sale was a spectacular success, raising a whopping £850 for Star Throwers!!
We couldn’t have done it without all the volunteers giving their time, effort, resources, and incredible baking skills! And of course, a BIG thank you to everyone who came and supported us, making donations and just being curious about this worthy cause.
We’ve lots more events planned for over the course of the year so if you’re interested in hearing more please go to our webpage Challenge 150. “
Aviva’s second fundraising event was a ‘Spin’ event held in February and raising an impressive £390 – below are some pictures of the team taking part:
