We understand that these are worrying times for all and even more for those who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis or are classed as a vulnerable adult. On this webpage we have outlined the ways in which we can still support you during this time and how you can still be involved in the Star Throwers community.

Cancer Information Sessions
We are currently accepting new patients and are providing remote (via zoom) and face-to-face cancer information sessions with our Nurse every Tuesday and Wednesday for patients and carers. To register as a new patient for support please fill in our online ‘Patient Questionnaire’ and to access our support services as a carer for someone who has or has had cancer please completed our ‘Carer Questionnaire’.
Online Cancer Nutrition Sessions
Star throwers offers talks, one-to-one sessions and group Q&A sessions on cancer nutrition with our experienced and knowledgeable Nutritional Therapist – Edwina Green. To book email: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01953 423304.
Current Support Available: Counselling sessions with our trained Counsellors, Jacqui Epsom-High and David Spicer via phone or video call.
The Star Throwers Counselling Service is suitable if you:
– have a diagnosis of any type of cancer
– are newly diagnosed
– are undergoing treatment
– trying to adjust back to ‘normal’ life and work after treatment
– are facing a life-limiting prognosis
We are also here to support your loved ones – carers, relatives and friends – including in bereavement.

Fatigue Management Service
Cancer and it’s treatment can cause extreme tiredness, known as fatigue. The coronavirus pandemic and the stress that it has caused may also contribute to this fatigue. Would you like help to manage your energy levels so that you can partake in the activities that are important to you? Find out more about this new service for those affected by cancer.
Writing for Wellbeing – Therapeutic Writing Group
These sessions (via zoom) are open to all patients, relatives, carers, volunteers and staff at Star Throwers. It is a safe, supportive, confidential place where you can write/talk about anything that you wish. We can offer help with supplies, prescription collections etc. Many of our volunteers have offered to help those who are self-isolating or unable to leave thier homes with practical support. This will be available to our existing patients, carers and volunteers.

Remote Therapist Support
Our wonderful Therapists are still very much here to support you and your loved ones during this time, below is a list of the support we currently have available (please check back as this is regularly changing and being added to):
One of our Reiki Therapists, Debbie Harding, is offering remote Reiki sessions via Zoom. Hand Reflexology at Home
One of our Reflexology Therapists – John Rhind who can be seen in this video showing how some helpful hand reflexology moves can help manage stress.
Live Meditation with our Hypnotherapist
Paul Barratt. Paul is carrying out live meditation sessions on his Facebook page, please ‘like’ his page and you will automatically be notified once he goes live.
Guided Meditation With our Hypnotherapist
If you are feeling a bit stressed and anxious then we can highly recommend listening along to this new guided meditation from our Hypnotherapist, Paul Barratt – available on his YouTube channel.
Yoga with Wendy
Some yoga and breathing techniques from the lovely Wendy. Some of our patients and carers were lucky enough to take part in Wendy’s six weeks yoga course at Star Throwers last year.
