Lauren said: “Angel by Jimi Hendrix is a song about Hendrix’s mother and that I felt connected to after my mum Alison passed away from cancer in June of 2000. Sadly earlier this year I lost a good friend and choir member to cancer also and so it was Dawn that inspired the decision to raise money for the Star Throwers charity based in Wymondham who took great care of her. They do great work supporting patients of any type of cancer as well as their carers and while there is a great amount of fundraising for cancer Dawn felt that small charities often get overlooked”.
